Leaky poorly made pen
I was so excited for this pen to arrive having waited weeks for it to ship to the UK. Love the pattern of it. But it was disappointing when it arrived as the gold tones didn’t match each other on the clip and the joint. Very light, fair enough for the price. But then it was impossible to fill, and when I finally got enough in the barrel it constantly leaked. My hands covered in ink just from picking up the pen and the lid got full of ink too. I wasn’t going to moan but I had the email to review and thought I’d give feedback.
Fountain Pen Revolution
Hi Ali, I'm sorry to hear it. Generally leaks like this are because the silicone grease has been removed form the converter thread. However, these pens will tend to leave ink in the cap if bumped around too much due to the very wet nature of the ebonite flex feeds. Please reach out directly so I can help more. All the best, Kevin
This is a good value for the price. However, don’t be fooled in thinking that this is a vintage quality pen. It’s very easy to railroad the nip if you write too fast. It does have quite a bit of flex and you can get quite a bit of variation that’s fun to write with, but it is not a vintage pen. Although good pen for the money.
Love my new pen
I am really enjoying this pen with the ultraflex nib. Very fun to write with. I have the Himalaya V1 as well with the ultraflex nib. Get the V2. It’s springy and more flexible than the V1. These pens feel well made and are a good size, not too big or small. I have had no issues with hard starts or ink flow. I would get several of these for the beautiful colors.
Himalaya Fun
This is a fine pen for the price. The quality of the materials are really great IMO. The ebonite barrel has a beautiful swirling pattern and feels great. The nib (Stub) writes beautifully and I couldn't be more pleased. It is extremely comfortable in my medium sized hand and with such a great array of colors to choose from, just one of these is not enough.
I love this pen! I got the ultra flex nib and it writes so smoothly and flexes beautifully.
